5 Travel Skincare Essentials for Acne

At home, I use an abundance of skincare products from cleansers to toners as well as lotions and face masks. Unfortunately, as much as I would like to, I can't fit all of my lovelies inside a suitcase for travel.

The decision of which to take is extremely hard, but I managed to pick out my top 5 products. Non surprisingly, the majority of these ended up focused for acne which I have mildly, however the toner is great for all skin types.

5 Travel Skincare Essentials for Acne

  1. Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Facial Wash | £4.94
Shock horror: I don't tend to use a face wash, just a splash of cold water and my toner first thing in the morning. But when I do use a cleanser, usually in summer when my skin is oilier, I love the Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit wash - it definitely does improve my acne and it's PINK! Perfect for a sunny holiday, but I'd skip it for a colder venture (such as Hamburg where I am right now - how exciting!)
  2. DIY Rose Water and Witch Hazel Toner
Using Ickle Bockle's superb travel bottles, I create my own toner; a mixture of rose water and witch hazel, both very kind to the skin. Witch hazel is an acclaimed acne treatment which is gentle yet effective while rose water helps to brighten and refresh - a combination I love. My other favourite toner is LUSH's Tea Tree Water but is a little more expensive than my homemade concoction.

  3. Nivea Soft Tube | £2.49
Moisturiser is a must for acne ridden skin and especially if you are travelling to a cold location. Nivea has an excellent sized travel tube of 75ml for just £2.49 for face, hands and body. I like to use oils for my skin when at home, so the added jojoba oil is perfect for me and you can't go wrong with a bit of vitamin E, can you?
  4. Johnson's Face Care Makeup Be Gone Clear Skin Wipes | £3.29
With no alcohol and plenty of skin-loving minerals, these acne-specific face wipes are definitely my favourite. They leave my skin feeling totally clean and not dried out which is a problem I have had in the past. I prefer to use the Oil Cleansing Method at home, but when I'm feeling lazy (a lot of the time) or am travelling, I swear by these face wipes.
  5. The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion | £3
A recent addition to my skincare routine but I have been impressed so far. The lotion comes in a handy sized tube for travelling and leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh. I use this after removing makeup at night but you can also use it after moisturiser in the morning as it is supposed to provide an anti-shine effect, a bit like a primer. Tea tree oil is one of my favourite anti-acne ingredients and the Body Shop Tea Tree range has only positive reviews from me.

So those are my top 5 travel skincare essentials for acne - what are yours?

Hamburg has been fantastic so far, it has similarities with Edinburgh but also many differences! And the Christmas decorations and markets are just wonderful! Today I went swimming near the Baltic Sea (near - not in thankfully).I have been taking lots of photographs and even a few videos so will hopefully be able to share some of those when I return. But I don't wanna go home!
