Spring 2015 Trendy Outfits

I know it's only January, but I can't wait for spring to make its appearance (and then summer). Recently I have received a few emails about Spring 2015 trends and so asked my friend Dana to help me create some trend-inspired outfits. We each brainstormed a daytime and a night outfit and added our favourite trend-heavy pieces to our Pinterest boards. Find mine here and Dana's over here.
This is when I know it's spring!

To add a little fun competition, the aim was to create outfits containing as many trends as possible while not looking too over the top or ridiculous. I sometimes think trends are overrated - I'll wear what I want thank you very much - however it's interesting to see how everyone interprets them differently and they can be a good starting point if you're feeling a little uninspired when the next season comes.

Dana's Day Spring 2015 Trendy Outfit

Dana: So according to Vogue and other well established fashion magazines, denim is going to be a
strong trend this coming Spring. I love it. The look I put together combines this forth coming
denim trend with the new ‘in’ colour, khaki. The over fitted open shirt and the long khaki
blouse are from ASOS and I chose to pair them with a pair of denim high waisted shorts from River
Island and the unique Miista khaki boots. I think these two trends balance out nicely!

Dana's Night Spring 2015 Trendy Outfit

Dana: For the night outfit, I had to take the black approach (not spring-like I know!) but I did take
advantage of a few more upcoming spring trends: leather, lace, disco platforms and metallics. The leather look skirt, tight lace top and chunky gold necklace are from River Island and perfectly match the disco platforms from ASOS whilst the necklace adds a touch of colour and glamour.

Mairi's Day Spring 2015 Trendy Outfit

Mairi: Spring for me is all about embracing pastels and light colours after a dark and dreary winter. What better way to practice this than with white? I've been loving these iridescent flatforms which fit in with the disco platform trend and I cannot resist a bit of lace - I'm in love with this skirt. The top has a lovely mesh neckline which is becoming more popular and the embellished bodice is gorgeous with a vintage feel. I was worried I was packing too many bold pieces into one look which is why I finished off with this simple but pretty white denim jacket which gives off a very chic vibe.

Mairi's Night Spring 2015 Trendy Outfit

Mairi: I adore this floaty, floral, off-shoulder dress due to the breezy boho feel. It's perfect for spring, however I was worried it was a bit casual for night so I used accessories to dress it up. How shiny are these shoes?! The metallic look makes them irresistible to a glitter lover like myself yet I like how the brown balances out the glitz so it doesn't look tacky. It also fits in with the boho vibe.

This clutch is obviously way out of my price range, I wouldn't even pay £160 for a bag but I think it goes perfectly with the overall look and the fringing is sooo pretty. Finally, I chose this subtle flower crown to add a pop of spring colour and fun.
